Peaceful, secluded and scenic. Andy and Esme really went out of their way to accommodate us and make our stay special! Definitely make use of the spa and s’mores package for a bit of extra enjoyment.

Can't say enough good things about this place, so peaceful and exactly what we needed, a reset from our busy lives. We loved that it rained when we were there so we could really enjoy the cabin and the sauna. Andy was great at making everything special for us and the breakfast hamper was the best way to end our time there. One night is not enough!

What an amazing experience. Perfect location, great customer service from Andy, hot tub lit by fairy lights, smores in the firepit by the river and an overall relaxing and tranquil night away! Highlights were the beautiful deer walking right past our window and also the gorgeous breakfast hamper delivered to the door. Highly recommended :)

Wow, this place is the most beautiful place I've stayed in by far, its really a step back in time, a peaceful retreat in the heart of the mountains, the views are spectacular, if you like hiking/walking and being in nature you have to stay at this beautiful place, the cottage is just perfect from the moment you pull upto it every little detail is perfect. Andy was so helpful and got the hot tub set up for us-magical outdoor hottub

The Glamping Cabin itself was beautiful from the decor to the extremely comfortable bed.. even the shower wash and shampoo and conditioners were beautiful! The hamper for the fire pit was beautiful (hot chocco delicious) the Forest Spa such an experience in it's setting and the breakfast hamper was the nicest I've had by far. I could not fault this in any shape or form it is the perfect getaway! And blessed at Doe's Den to have 5/6 Doe's come for a visit

…super charming and peaceful. Don't miss the sauna! The bed is sooooo cozy and soft, I just wanted to stay in it all day. The breakfast basket is amply stocked; for me it was enough for both breakfast and lunch! Dinner at the restaurant on premises was nice. If you are walking or cycling to the nearby Tollymore Forest Park, do ask for directions to the back entrance, not the main entrance, as getting to the main entrance entails traversing a very frightening road.

We knew this was going to be special when we started our walk down the wooded path to the Kingfisher’s Cabin. It was so lovely to be at one with nature and the attention to detail was excellent. We had ordered the ‘ S’mores’ basket and loved having our s’mores with hot chocolate by the fire, listening to the river and the birdsong. The outside bath was amazing and we didn’t even mind the rain! After a great nights sleep we enjoyed a delicious breakfast which was delivered to our door by Andy who could not have more helpful.

I loved everything about our stay from the moment we arrived to the minute we left .the pod was fantastic with great views of the mountains, the wildlife we seen was incredible. The hot tub was perfect especially with a glass of bubbly lol and the breakfast was beautiful more than expected.

Doe’s Den

Thistle Thatch is a real experience stay - it was like stepping back in time but with the necessary modern comforts. It’s an old cottage dating back to 1787 and you can feel the history in the walls. We loved the log fired oven, the bed was comfy and the bath in the bedroom was really special touch. Andy the owner was super friendly and took the time to talk us through the history of the place. The highlight however, was the log fired hot tub built into the hill and looking out over the misty Mourne Mountains.

Mountain Cottage

… The little cottage was very clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and once we mastered the stove the whole place was warm in no time. The weather wasn't on our side but we chanced the hot tub in the wind and rain. It was perfect. The views have to be seen to be believed with plenty of opportunity to go on lovely walks. Unfortunately the weather stopped us. The weather did however allow us to have one of the most relaxed time in the cottage where we read and played the odd board game. We didn't want to leave and we will certainly be booking again in the near future.

We can't stop talking about it! It's so different from others and everything has been well thought of from the delivery of our bags while we walked through the river trial, the sauna, the s’mores kit and the cabin itself. Thank you so much for having us and thank you to Andy for everything
